Due to possible threats to the security of this family, we chose to unpublish the images identifying the family. The family remains under occupation, and truly needs help.

Hello! Our family has been displaced since 2015. We moved from the Luhansk region to the Donetsk region to the territory controlled by Ukraine. In February, when full-scale war broke out in Ukraine, it is a continuation of an 8-year horror, we started buying a lot of food, medicine, and water. We tried to withdraw cash and prepared things. I sent my sister to Mariupol because the children were waiting for her there. Time stopped for me, thoughts did not fit in my head, only the phrase “again this horror, like a nightmare or deja vu” kept popping up. For some time we lived without leaving, hoping to improve the situation. We did what needed to be done. We reassured the children, that they studied online. In the spring there was news from the management about the evacuation, it scared us. But the biggest fear was not having time to leave, such as people from Mariupol. We were sheltered by good people, for which I thank them very much. We have returned home so far. If we have to run away again, we will go. Child safety is a priority. The worst moment since the beginning of the war was the confirmation of my late grandmother’s words that “all troubles are temporary the main thing is that there was no war.” The worst – uncertainty, fear, pain, death toll. I am currently on maternity leave. Of course, children are scared, especially the older child, because she is already going through the second wave of this war. She understands everything and perceives everything, and cares. I have 3 children. Maya is 16 years old, Yaroslav is 11 years old and Alice is 1 year old. We receive social benefits and we are also lucky to receive humanitarian aid from organizations that work for people. Temporary delays in payments, price increases several times, and temporary relocations have led to the need to ask for help. The greatest help is needed psychologically, but there is no time for that and we are not the only ones in the country. The most relevant help is money and advice. The youngest child was diagnosed with a chronic disease that needs constant monitoring, but now requires a more detailed examination and, God forbid, surgery. So now I’m trying to gather thoughts and emotions together. I want to believe in peace, the integrity of the country, peace, and prospects. All peoples and nations need to remember that war is a disaster that can sadly affect anyone. It’s not out only there in the past. We must not lose our human form so that this disaster does not exist in any country. We must not succumb to greed, principledness, or selfishness. The biggest fear is that the smartest creature on the planet could destroy everything around it.
