Join Us We Need Your Help
Good morning! My name is Yuliya. I am a single mother of 2 sons. I am from Kramatorsk, the west of Ukraine. Before the war, I worked as a taxi operator, but I lost my job because of the war. I have no money. My children and I already experienced this in 2014 and hoped that we would never have to hear the terrible sounds of explosions again. On February 24, the alarm clock woke me up at 3:30 in the morning, I had to get to work and have time to prepare the children for school. I was doing my own business when a loud explosion rang out at 4 am. The children woke up immediately, we did not immediately understand what was happening. Then there was a second explosion, and a third… I felt deja vu. All this has already happened. That day, I did not send the children to school but took them to work with me. We lived there for the next 2 weeks. Our house was located near a strategic object, it was dangerous to be there. But after 2 weeks my company closed and we had to go back home. A few days later, a rocket flew into my office. Mine quitting my job saved our lives. Every day and night we hear explosions, every day they are getting closer and closer. The scariest thing in this situation is that children are so used to it that they don’t notice them anymore. I tell the children every day that everything will be fine, I try to somehow cheer them up, but at night I can barely hold back tears and panic attacks. I want to live. Because all businesses in the town are closed, there is no work. We need any kind of help – food, hygiene products, clothes. Any help, even if it’s just words of support, would be greatly appreciated. Peace to all of us!
