Good day! My name is Yuliya Plis. Until February 24, I lived in the city of Kharkiv. I worked as a teacher in a kindergarten. I raised my 2 children by myself. Children are 8 and 9 years old. Everything was great until February 24th when we woke up at 4 a.m. not to an alarm clock, unfortunately, but to the sounds of terrible explosions. In the first minutes, I felt despair, not understanding what was happening around me. Then we opened the sources of information and learned that the war had begun. I understood that I needed to take the documents and the children and run away, save them. The first days we were in the basement of our kindergarten. In addition to my colleagues, there were also people from the neighborhood and children. We spent more than a week there. When the rockets started flying into our area, it was very scary and I decided to leave the city. Thanks to volunteers, we quickly and safely crossed the border of our city and ended up in the Poltava region. We stayed there for some time and left for the city of Uman. It was all automatic. We wanted to go away from Kharkiv because even when we were in the Poltava region, we could hear explosions and it scared us. For some time we lived in Uman, now we live in the city of Kyiv. Uman is a beautiful, but a small town, and it is difficult to find a job there. We rent housing in Kyiv. My friends gave us this accommodation while they are abroad. I need money because I am raising children myself, they need clothes and food. Thanks for the help!
