Good afternoon! My name is Yana. We are IDPs from the Luhansk region. We were forced to leave our hometown and move to the unoccupied part of Ukraine because our city was captured by the Russian occupiers. On February 24, they invaded, seized our territory and consider themselves the masters there. They are stealing everything from our homes, stealing grain, tractors, and our crops. They took everything. We were forced to leave because we have 2 minor children. They (the occupiers – ed.) came to our house with searches 4 times. They took our laptop, phones, and router, they searched everywhere in the house and barn. They are looking for food. We decided to leave to save our children. Now we are renting a house in the Kyiv region. It’s very expensive, it’s hard for us. My husband is unable to work because he is disabled. It is difficult for him to find a job. My children are 6 and 10 years old, they study online. On February 27, my brother and father went to buy medicine. Their car was shot at by the occupiers. The bullet hit my brother in the shoulder and stuck there. It paralyzed him. They can’t leave because they have no money and no opportunity. It’s hard to live in the occupied territory, they consider themselves the masters. We (civilians – ed.) are nobody for them. They despise us because we did not support the illegal annexation. WE live 90 kilometers from Luhansk, no one bombed them in 2014 and no one shot at them. They lived a great life, and received two pensions – Ukrainian and Russian. They applied for pensions from us. And now they are complaining that they had a bad life in Ukraine. I am asking for help. Thank you for your attention.
