Good evening, my name is Tatyana. On February 24, 2022, my family and I woke up to explosions that were heard in our city at about 5 am at our military airfield.
We all started to panic and fear because the war had begun, a full-scale invasion of the territory of Ukraine. We didn’t know where to run and what to do, so we decided to run to the pharmacy and buy vital medicines, water and food.
My child was very scared, her name is Anna, she is 10 years old.
That day we went to my work in the morning. I was working as a nurse in a family practice clinic at the time. The nightmare began when we heard tanks driving through the city.
At that time, the city of Henichesk was already occupied and we were waiting for them to enter our city. After that, we decided to go with my family to my mother’s house in the village, because it was farther away from the fighting. We stayed under occupation for exactly 6 months. But when I was told at work to take a Russian passport and had to send my child to school until the 4th grade under the occupation authorities, I refused to do so. We left the occupation on August 24, 2022.
Now we live with our family in a small town of Odesa region in my husband’s parental home, the city of Kodyma, Odesa region. My husband’s mother lives with us, we live in a private house and the child went to the 5th grade in this local school.
We believe in victory!
We believe that Ukraine will win!
At the moment, we need financial help, as we need to buy firewood for the winter and winter shoes for us and the child, thank you.
