Good day. My name is Tetyana. I am from Kharkiv region. I would like to share my story here. I was pregnant back then when the war started. On Feb 24th, I woke up due to the loud explosions close to my home. Even though it was so close, I could not believe that the war has started. When I looked out of the window, I saw many russian soldiers with weapons. We were shocked, however, we decided to take the most important stuff with us and leave the village. It was scary because we didn’t know where to go. Somehow we got to our friends in Kharkiv, we thought it will be safer there. But Kharkiv was also under shelling, so most of the time, we stayed in the basement, which was cold and was not equipped for living. We have 2 sons with us: Tymofiy ( 13 years old) and Yefym ( 4 years old). Both of them were so scared, I caught them many times crying and screaming at night. When Kharkiv became the center of the constant shelling, we didn’t have a choice but to leave somewhere else. We decided to go to Krasnohrad city, where good people helped us with food and shelter, and we stayed there for around a month. Thankfully, with their help, my daughter was born in Krasnohrad. Unfortunately, we can’t go back home now, as the village is still a zone of active hostilities. We are renting an apartment here. Even though we are safe here, my kids are still under stress.
