Polina Zayfert from Bucha
Good day! I ask for your help and really hope for it. I have a minor daughter. My husband has been disabled since childhood. I am unemployed. February 24 is the scariest day for all of us. That was the day we heard the first explosions. We heard the roar of planes. We understood that the war had begun. Now we live in the Zhytomyr region in a small house that I inherited from my grandmother. We cannot now return to the town of Bucha, where we had an apartment. The scariest moment for us was when planes flew over our house. Explosions were heard. We sat in the house, hugging our daughter. We didn’t have a bomb shelter. There is no bomb shelter in our village. Pain, despair, tears, not understanding how to protect your child. Our child is very scared. Now in Ukraine, all children are scared. Children are afraid of loud sounds. Our daughter is 9 years old. We did not receive any help. Organizations do not help families with one child. The greatest need is food, medicine, and clothes for the child. I hope that this war will end soon and that our native Ukraine will rise from the ruins and rebuild. Those who had to leave because of the war will return home. The world must know about this horror and help us raise our country from the ruins. I want our children to live in peace and calm. Everything will be Ukraine!
