Good day! My name is Oleksandra. I am from Volnovakha, the Donetsk region. The war in my town started already on February 24, we were immediately bombarded with rockets, and houses were already burning. On the 25th, I was still working, going to work. I worked as a technological engineer at Volnovakha. Now I am unemployed. Shops no longer worked, there was looting, everything was robbed, it was scary. The children were afraid to leave the basement, they were in the basement almost all the time. We panicked the most when the light and gas went out, there was no communication, we were cut off from the whole world, and we didn’t know what was happening. We had to get used to the fact that food had to be cooked over a fire. It was difficult. We slept in our outer clothes. I have 2 children: Varvara is 5 years old, and Ilya is 12 years old. Now I am unemployed, I receive social benefits from the state. We did not receive help from UNICEF or the Red Cross, we received help from volunteers, it was food, and hygiene products. Now it is difficult to get anything. We live in the Chernivtsi region, we rent an apartment here. Our housing is without comfortable conditions, we sleep on a mattress on the floor, there are no household appliances, and there are not even dishes. At first, the volunteers gave something, but now it is very difficult. We believe in our soldiers and our victory, and we hope that everything will be fine. We will rebuild everything, our people are strong, and we will do everything if only these beasts (I don’t know what else to call them) would leave our country. I am begging you – help our country, close the sky over Ukraine, give us weapons. Our guys are very brave and strong, if we all unite, we will definitely win. Do not live according to the principle “my house is on the edge – I don’t know anything.” Be with us, help, please. This is the only way we will be able to win over this evil. Only by uniting, we can win. Thank you!
