Good afternoon. My name is Maryna. On the day the war came to us, I was preparing my children for kindergarten, making them breakfast, and through the kitchen window I saw our airport being blown up because the kitchen windows face the other side. After February 24, our life changed dramatically as my husband lost his job and for the next six months we lived on our savings until they ran out that is why we decided to move to the government-controlled territory, as we had to look for a job and there is no work in Kherson. The most frightening moment of the war for them was when we were leaving because there were so many checkpoints. We spent 4 days in Vasylivka, we spent the night in the village, we spent the whole day on the highway, tanks were passing by, shots were fired… It was all very terrifying, given that we had two other children with us. Before the war, I did not work, as my youngest child was two and a half years old at the beginning of the war and had just started kindergarten, and while she was undergoing adaptation, I had not yet managed to go to work. Our children reacted in the following way: the younger daughter did not understand because of her age, and the older son was, of course, very scared. It was very scary for him. I have two children, a three-year-old daughter and a seven-year-old son, Ksenia, and Misha. We don’t receive any benefits from the state, we received humanitarian aid from the Red Cross and also received one-time cash assistance from the UN. Now we live in a rented apartment in Khmelnytsky. We would be grateful for any help.
