Join Us We Need Your Help
Good afternoon. My name is Maryna, I am from the city of Kakhovka, Kherson region. Our town heard explosions on February 24. We woke up to terrible explosions. I started packing my things. We did not believe it would happen. The occupants were occupying our town more and more. We went to buy food once a week. Twice we went to rallies in support of Ukraine, the third time we didn’t go and then found out that they started shooting at people there, hitting them in the legs. It was terrible, I watched the video of the scene and thought: “Thank God we didn’t go”. I hoped to the last that they would leave our city, but unfortunately, it did not happen. In the summer, my husband and I decided to leave because they started shelling the outskirts of our town, Beryslav. The children were screaming, we were hiding. It was terrible. We left through Vasylivka. They did not let us out on the first attempt. They set fire to the fields, everything was burning. We returned home. Then we left again and spent 3-4 days there (at the checkpoint – ed.). They asked us various questions and threatened us to return home quickly. Thank God, we left. It was very happy to see our guys. We are currently living in Vinnytsia in rented housing. We still don’t know what happened to our house. We will be very grateful for your help.
