Good morning! I want to share my story. The day the war started was a normal day for me at first. I took my husband to work, started to prepare breakfast, and my phone rang. My husband called me and said he was coming home because the war had started. I couldn’t believe it at first. How is it possible for there to be war in the 21st century? But when I went to the Internet and saw many videos that proved that the war had begun. Our life has changed very radically. Children began to be afraid of airplanes. The scariest moment was in the morning when we woke up to the explosions. It was the worst. Before the war, I did not work, I was at home with my children, and my husband worked. The children were very frightened, they were afraid of every loud sound. They didn’t understand why we had to close the windows, why we couldn’t go outside. My children are 6, 4, and 2 years old, their names are Oleksandr, Yelyzaveta, and Artem. I do not receive social benefits. I receive humanitarian aid only as a displaced person. We live now in my husband’s aunt’s house. She provided us with this accommodation for free, but it needs repairs. Most of all, help is needed with food and diapers. I see the future of Ukraine as prosperous, quiet, and peaceful. The world needs to hear about this war. This is not a special operation, not a rescue, this is a real war in which hundreds of people die, and children die. My biggest fear is that it may not end even after a year. I am afraid that the war will overtake us here, where we have moved, in this quiet place. I am afraid that my children or I may suffer, not only psychologically, but also physically.
