Hello. My name is Karyna. I’m requesting help from your organization. Wanted to tell you my story. On Feb 24th, we woke up due to heavy explosions. In the window, we saw this horrific radiance. My kids were so scared to see that. We decided to leave for the city of Mariupol itself, we thought it would be safer there. I was working and I was also getting financial help from the government, as I am a single mother. I have two kids: a three-year-old daughter Katya and a son Makar, who is one year and six months old. In Mariupol, it was like hell. It was constantly bombed. My house was completely destroyed, and all my things burnt out. I am so scared that we will have explosions again. I don’t think I will survive it the second time. It’s horrible to know that maybe this is your last day of life. My kids are still scared of the aircraft that fly here from time to time, so my daughter always asks me- “Mom, will it bomb us now? Mom, should we hide?” To be honest, it’s so hard to hear such horrible things from a three-year-old kid. The local occupation authority doesn’t help us at all. We need financial support for food, winter clothing, and firewood. Currently, my kids don’t have any winter clothes at all, my neighbors gave us one jacket and that is it. I want everyone to know that russia is a terrorist state. They killed so many civilians! In our basement, where we were hiding, eleven people were killed just because they went outside to cook some food and got under shelling.
