Iryna Vasina from Kharkiv
I have been in the city of Kharkiv since the first day of the war. We did not change our place of residence. On the first day, we went down to the basement. We lived there for 85 days. It was very scary, we heard the bombing. Unfortunately, we still hear it. I have 2 children, they are 3 and 7 years old, Beatrice and Nicole. They were with me all the time in the basement, more than 30 of us lived there, and 12 of them were children.
People gradually moved abroad, unfortunately, we were not able to do this. Therefore, we remain in our city and hope that this horror will end very soon. Before the war, I worked as a shop assistant. Unfortunately, it is difficult to find a job in the city now. Money is needed because only displaced people receive assistance but people who remained in the war zone don’t receive assistance. Sometimes they help us with food, but it is often sweets, which cannot be fed to children. Autumn is coming, children need clothes. I also need to pay rent. We will be grateful for your support.
