Iryna Kobzar from Bakhmut
Join Us We Need Your Help
Good evening. We are temporarily displaced persons from Bakhmut. Active hostilities continue there, russian troops are destroying everything – our homes, people, and animals. In the first days of the war, there was fear, not for myself, but for children, for people with limited physical capabilities. Schools were closed, air raid sirens were constantly heard. Everyone was hiding in basements. Everything turned gray. I have been working as a nurse since 2013. I worked there until 2022 when the full-scale invasion began. After an operation, a woman was brought to us, and the air alarm began. Everyone ran for the basement, but we couldn’t because we were carrying this woman. A rocket flew over my head. Fortunately, the rocket did not hit me but flew further. It was very scary. Immediately thoughts arose about my child, and how she is without me at home. The children were very scared, they and their neighbors quickly responded to the siren and ran to the basement. They helped other people and took animals with them. My daughter’s name is Yelyzaveta, she is 14 years old. She used to have a heart defect, now she has cardiopathy. She is registered with a cardiologist. We do not receive state benefits. We did not receive help from UNICEF, the Red Cross, or the UN. Now we live in the city of Kyiv. Here we rent housing. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I see my country prosperous. People will be happy. There will be no war. Children will be happy. We are very grateful to all the countries that help us, our Ukrainians, and our military. A low bow to you. Victory will belong to Ukraine and the civilized world that supports us. I fear nuclear weapons the most because nuclear weapons destroy everything.
