When the war started on February 24, my mother woke me up at 4:30 in the morning and told me that the war had started. My children and I woke up, and we already heard shelling and explosions. We didn’t go out and sat at home, then a lot of enemy vehicles started driving around the town. More than 100 units of military equipment. They occupied the town of Trostyanets. We were under siege for a whole month. There was no more bread or flour. There was no communication, no electricity. We were constantly hiding in bomb shelters. The children were very scared. We could not even prepare food for ourselves because of the constant shelling. It was very scary. It was very difficult to survive. Fortunately, Trostyanets was freed from occupation. But because they were here, they destroyed a lot of buildings. Many people have lost their jobs. I have 2 children. One child has vision problems and needs funds for lenses and eye treatment. I need to pay utilities, there is no work. I have a low-income family with many children. We live with my mother, a pensioner, she is 75 years old. Children are scared. This is how we survived the war – running from the bomb shelter and back to the bomb shelter. It’s a lot of stress, we hope it never happens again and they don’t come here. Thank you. The peaceful sky above your head!
