Good evening! My name is Ilona. I am 35 years old. I have 5 children. We live in Ukraine, in our house. The war has come to us. It was very terrible, the children saw it all. On February 24, we woke up to the fact that everything was shaking. There were battles, planes were flying. It is very difficult. After the start of the war, people were left without work, prices rose sharply. Humanitarian aid is not brought to us because we are in the occupied territory. The most terrible moment since the beginning of the war is that the children saw all this and woke up to the noisy battle. It’s scary to watch TV, it shows everything that happens in our Kherson region. We don’t know what to expect. Children reacted very hard. The children knew about the war from books, but to see it all with their own eyes… It traumatized them. We need money for medicine and food. There is no work. People survive as best they can. I see the future of our Ukraine. I hope everything will be fine. Everything will be restored and we will be Ukraine. Most of all, I want my children to be with me and we have a home. I don’t want to wake up from this horror anymore. I will show you my children now, they will tell you their age.
