Illya Malkov from Severodonetsk
We are the Malkov family from Severodonetsk. On the day the war broke out, I was still working as a manager in a company, planning a business trip to a remote part of the region. But in the morning I opened the news and realized that I was not going anywhere. Our lives have changed completely since that day. At first, we had to move to the basement. It was very difficult to explain to the children why we could not sleep in our beds, walk on the street, and why we had to live underground all the time. My children: Varvara is 5 years old, Fevroniya is 3 years old and Mykola is 9 months old. The situation worsened, and we were evacuated from the town under fire. With the help of friends, we were taken to Italy. But even now we need money to buy food and things for children. We understand that this war is destroying Ukraine and continues to destroy it. We are very afraid of being left on the streets without money and housing. We can’t go home because our town is still occupied.
