For me, the war began back in 2014, when russian mercenaries came to my city of Severodonetsk and, with the support of local collaborators, seized power in the city. We lived in this state for 3 months and I lived under shelling for another 6 months. I fell asleep and woke up to the sounds of explosions and shooting. I saw from my window how russian mercenaries were shooting from “Hrad” rockets at neighboring towns, at mines, destroying everything in their path. I couldn’t stay there for long, it was hard psychologically and physically. I left everything and moved to Odesa with one bag of luggage. This is where I met my husband. I thought everything would be fine. We decided to have a baby. I was 6 months pregnant when the war knocked on my door again. It was the worst day of my life because all my plans for the future were destroyed. I didn’t know what to do and where to flee again. Here is my home, my husband, here I wanted to give birth to a child. My child was born during the air raid. The child spent the first hours of his life in a cold basement. I am most afraid for my child. I want her to grow up in a free and independent country, under a free sky and never know what war is. The child is still small and does not understand what is happening, why we are sitting in the corridor, and why parents cry when they read the news. I want this nightmare to end soon and peace to come. We need help, because my mother, who left occupied Severodonetsk, lives with us. She lives on a minimum pension. Only my husband works. We do not have enough money. I did not receive any help from the state. I would be grateful for any help.
