Hanna Zheleznyak from Kramatorsk
Join Us We Need Your Help
My name is Hanna Zheleznyak. I have two children – Maksym, 10 years old, and Dariya, 5 years old. My family and I lived in the town of Kramatorsk, Donetsk region, until February 24, 2022. When the war started on February 24, the airport near our house was shot up, rockets were fired at the airfield and all our windows were destroyed, my children were very scared, and they suffered a lot of psychological stress. I decided to leave for another town in the west of Ukraine. We left for the Lviv region. I am raising children alone, my husband died six months ago. In the Lviv region, we were accepted, settled in a shelter, and we live here now. These are my daughter’s drawings. We all think that we will return home and Ukraine will be there. My youngest daughter is often sick, so I was not able to work and my family lived only on the help from the state, which was 5,000 UAH per month. We moved to Lviv. Thanks to volunteers, we were accommodated in a shelter, and given food and some clothes, but children often get sick, so we need any help with food, clothes, or medicine. I have not yet received social benefits this month. Recently, it has been delayed. I hope for any help, life has become difficult, but we believe in victory, we believe that we will return home and Ukraine will be there. Thank you very much!
