Hanna Lapta from Kharkiv
Hello! We are immigrants from the Kharkiv region. On the 24th, when the war began, at first no one could believe it. Then we gathered our thoughts, my husband went to the store to buy groceries. We don’t know what will happen next. It’s good that he managed to pick up the car. It’s scary to talk about it, we couldn’t leave the house. Something constantly whistled above our house, especially at night. We don’t know whether it was planes or missiles. We slept dressed. My son is 10 years old, he didn’t want to sleep in clothes so much, he said that it’s hot, but I understood that if he was not dressed, we have to suddenly run away, and he simply would not have time to get dressed. It was winter outside. My younger son was then 4 months old. He also was constantly waking up from explosions in his crib, crying. I could not lull him to sleep, he was afraid of sounds. At night I woke up to this whistling and noise right above us, so close. You lie and do not understand what to do – whether to cover one child with yourself or to cover the second child with yourself. You don’t understand anything, you just lie there and wait for death. We got together and left. There is very little money. Nobody provides housing for free. We rent housing, we also have to pay for utilities. There is very little humanitarian aid, they gave flour, but you will not feed yourself only with flour. Today we stood in line for humanitarian aid, but it was simply not given to us because there was not enough. Packages with the help of 120 sets, and 3000 people. If there is an opportunity, please help. Either with money or with products. We will be very grateful
