Hello! My name is Darya. I am a forced migrant for the second time. For the first time, my children and I fled the war in the Luhansk region in 2014. We lived in rented accommodation in Kharkiv. The youngest son Hordiy went to kindergarten, and the eldest son Hlib went to school in the 4th grade. Before the decree, I worked at the Pedagogical University as an engineer. On February 24, at 4:30 am, the war began in Kharkiv. There were strong explosions, it was much more powerful than in Luhansk in 2014. Everything was very scary, like in the movies. We slept in the hallway, the eldest son slept in the bathroom. We thought it would end soon, but with each passing day, we realized that it was only getting worse. Thanks to the people who helped us. We left for the Poltava region and settled in a hotel. The first time we paid for the hotel, now we do not pay because we have no money. Thanks to the hotel owner who allowed us to live here for free. Once a day we go to eat, and we are given humanitarian aid. Once we received food aid, it was called “presidential”. Social benefits from the country have been issued, but have not yet been received. We are waiting. We want to go home, we are tired. We do not know what awaits us next. It’s very scary. The eldest son recently underwent surgery. We need any help – money, food, clothes or medicine. The eldest son was examined annually at the Odesa hospital. He has serious heart problems. This year, his condition began to deteriorate. We try not to panic. We believe in victory and we believe that everything will be fine because the truth is with us. It’s very scary. Thank you for your help and support.
