Glory to Ukraine! I want to tell you a short story about how our family was caught up in the war. On March 2, 2022, invaders entered our village of Polohy, Zaporizhzhia region. We saw their vehicles driving down the road in our direction, and there were explosions. When they started shooting at our garage door with a machine gun, we heard it and went down to the basement. Many tanks and various large vehicles were passing through our yard, we were sitting in the basement and the earth was falling on us. We were very worried, and afraid, and did not understand what was happening. My daughter was with me, my husband, my sister, and my sister’s husband. The invaders locked us in the basement and searched our house. They ate, drank, and looted. They took all our belongings, even socks, and T-shirts. It was an army of vagrants, they took everything – spoons, forks, all our food, and then they fed us in the basement with our food. I had a business – it was gone, I had a car – they took it away from me, I had a house – they smashed it. They also destroyed my mother’s house, so we have nowhere to live. We have no homes. They are completely destroyed and cannot be restored. The world needs to hear that this is happening. I don’t know how else to shout about it. I went to Zaporizhzhya. People do not believe that this can happen in the 21st century. The world, please hear the Ukrainians! Glory to Ukraine! Ukraine will be independent, and Ukraine will be prosperous. I hope it will happen soon, God helps us, and the world helps us. We receive IDP payments, we receive humanitarian aid, and we have been given heaters, but we have no homes, and we have nowhere to return to. Save our Ukraine so that it can become free and independent. Glory to Ukraine!
