Hello! My name is Olena. I have a son. We were born and lived all our lives in the town of Rubizhne, the Luhansk region, Ukraine. All was well. It is not true that we wanted russia. We wanted to live in Ukraine. We lived well in Ukraine. The child went to kindergarten, I went to work. On February 24, 2022, war came to us. The troops of the Russian Federation entered our town in March. I didn’t want to leave my home until the last moment. But we had to leave because the town was being shelled. Now my child knows what rockets, tanks, and “hrad” are. We tried to evacuate. The occupiers repeatedly fired at the evacuation transport. Once, my child and I had to fall to the ground and crawl on broken glass, our hands were cut. Fortunately, we were able to leave. Now we live in the city of Chernivtsi in a rented apartment. The child is still traumatized by the war, he does not speak well and is afraid of any noise. We receive social benefits. I am divorced. We have nowhere to return to: our home is completely destroyed, and our town has been under occupation for more than half a year. I want to be heard by as many people as possible in Ukraine and abroad. We did not want the кussians to “rescue” us, we lived at home and everything was fine with us. Thank you for your attention.
